My Top 5 Places To Take Photos In Knoxville, TN

When I first moved to Knoxville, I fell in love with the nature and history of the city. Everything was so old yet had a modern charm to it and the fact that we are so close to the Smoky Mountains is just the cherry on top for this camping and hiking enthusiast.

Here are my 5 favorite places to take pictures in Knoxville, TN

Mead's Quarry

Located just south of city center, Mead's Quarry is a tranquil escape for anyone looking to get away and do some hiking or paddle boarding. There are many spots around the quarry that are perfect for snapping that perfect photo, whether it's on the trail, on the water, or on the rocks!

Ijams Nature Center

Just a hop, skip and a jump away from Mead's Quarry is Ijams Nature Center. Full of rocks, rivers, trees, trails, owls and salamanders, Ijams is a sanctuary for all visitors to learn and connect with the natural world. Settle down in the big grassy area, take a stroll through the trail, or say cheese with the wildlife. Ijams is an ideal spot for a tranquil photoshoot.

Forks Of The River Sunflowers

While you're in south Knoxville, head east to the Forks Of The River Wildlife Management Area. There you will find a field of wild sunflowers just begging you take their picture. This serine and out-of-this-world landscape is at full peak during the month of July.

Cades Cove

Okay, so Cade's Cove isn't exactly in Knoxville but trust me, it's worth the drive. Head south, past Maryville, into the Smoky Mountains. Here you will find open landscapes and mountain backdrops. This location is ideal for engagement photos or even adventure elopement ceremonies

Old City

If you're more of a city person, then this is the spot for you. Old City is located north of city center and is full of local bars, restaurant, history and more! While you're there, head over to the Jig and Reel for a pint then over to Barley's for some amazing pizza! The city may be old, but your pictures will be alive with the backdrop of this beautiful neighborhood.
